Aum Sairam
In Shri Sai Satcharitra, Chapter.3, Sri Sai Baba said, "I envelope all the creatures, the movable and immovable world." According to this statement, naturally we are coming under His fold and every one of us has an obligation to serve others. We should not consider ourselves as an individual entity as we made for others. Sri Sai Baba further clarified, "I am the Mother – origin of all beings." Based on these facts, what Sri Sai Baba is expecting from us, let us think in this direction.
As we know work is worship, we should not make any difference between menial and respectable work. We must do actions as our duty. It is important that we should NOT expect any thanks or appreciation, applause, salute, for our work or service. Let us fix the mind on Sri Sai Baba and give the hands to work and sing Sri Sai Baba's name while serving others.
According to Sri Sai Baba’s advice, "First give bread to the hungry and then eat yourself [Shri Sai Satcharitra Ch.9]", always give preference to feed the poor, clothe the naked, comfort the distressed by all possible ways and means. Let us spend part of our income on charity and spiritual development programs for the benefit of the mankind. We don’t lose anything if we share what we have with others, never doubt this truth; Sri Sai Baba is the Controller of this Universe and wirepuller of the show, Sri Sai Baba knows what is our share in this world. We must be very careful about our mind, always scrutinizes inner motives and annihilate all selfish motives.
Give up ego of all sorts [micro, macro and mega]. Never feel, "I have helped that man". It is God who is always helping us and we are totally unqualified lots to help others. We must think, "The Lord has given me an opportunity to serve [not help] him", always be on the look out for ways to serve and never miss any single opportunity. Be unanimous in all conditions, good or bad, positive or negative, creative or destructive, knowing that they are nothing but the fruits of your own past actions, Be devoted to the well-being of all humanity. Love for Love's sake. Work for work's sake.
"Let us love and serve each other and be happy. He who attains the supreme goal of life is immortal and happy; all others merely exist, i.e. live so long as they breathe. [Shri Sai Satcharitra Ch.18 & 19]"
