Aum Sairam
May This Thursday [Baba's Day] Bring You Strength, Good luck, Happiness, Success And Joy
Sri Sai bless everybody on this holy Thursday and fill your lives with joy and peace. Human perspective is so different. If a class of students is presented with a glass filled to half with water and asked to comment on it, I am sure no two answers would be the same. It is the matter of perceiving, some could say the glass is half empty or the others could say it is half full. Though both describe it correctly it is how we view it is significant. Those who have described glass as being half full have a positive, and optimistic view in life.
We have all faced difficult situations in life. While passing those hard moments we feel nobody goes through worse situations than we have. It is a known fact that grass is always greener on the other side isn't it? One thing we forget to do in our life is to learn from our life situations. Life is a big arena each stage we pass through teaches us different things, those who are wise learn from it, others miss the opportunity to learn from it and go through the same roller coaster of sufferings. Let us remember that when going through difficult phases in life we should thank God that things are as they are if they were any worse then perhaps we could not imagine the consequences. Let us thank god for giving us those tests or problems for He knows our capacity and amazingly He gives what we can cope with.
Surprisingly today I was thinking on those lines and I get this message. Let me tell you how I get the messages which I send every Thursday. I always keep Shri Sai Satcharitra near my PC and have a picture of Sri Sai in the room. I have book mark of Sri Sai's picture leaning on the masjid wall with some quotes. I look at Sri Sai's picture and seek His guidance in giving the message, I find it better to put the responsibility on somebody rather than take it on myself. A bad but useful practice learnt at work.
Anyway I take the bookmark with Sri Sai's picture and insert in the book. And the first sentence my sight falls on I take it as the message and the first thought it comes to my mind after reading the message I take it as the guidance of Sri Sai and put it into words to send to you all. If it is right or wrong, I have no idea. I find answers in such gesture and I feel those who believe in Sri Sai seek the answers in the same way. So putting the whole responsibility on His frail yet strong shoulders I post to my beloved Sai family. Rest is up to Him to direct everybody.
"This reminds us of a similar story of Kabir who seeing a woman grinding corn said to his Guru, Nipathiranjana, "I am weeping because I feel the agony of being crushed in this wheel of worldly existence like the corn in the hand-mill." Nipathiranjana replied, "Do not be afraid; hold fast to the handle of knowledge of this mill, as I do, and do not wander far away from the same but turn inward to the Center, and you are sure to be saved." Chapter 1 Shri Sai Satcharitra.
Each sentence in Shri Sai Satcharitra has different meaning for those seeking answers. In this context I find Kabirs lamenting about His inability to cope with the tribulations of Samsara and is seeking guidance from his Guru. His Guru asks him to hold on to the knowledge alternatively to the holy feet of God, always and not to let it go come what may realize the essence that world is illusion and god is ultimate and take everything as the gift of God. Such man has no reason to feel unhappy. He is happy as He sees the positive side of all the problems.
Allah Malik
