'SAT' 'CHIT' 'ANANDA'

Aum Sairam

Every time the Aarti is sung or some devotee visits Sri Sainath Maharaj, they hail him as Shri Sachidananda Sadguru Sainath Maharaj Ki Jai. What is the real significance of this term Sachidananda?

The famous sage Shuka, son of Shri Vyasa Maharshi, goes into deep forests for penancing in search of Brahman. After sometime, he returns and tells his father. Oh father, I found Brahman. It is nothing but the Food we eat. All the beings on this earth sustain because of food. They take form from food and after leaving this body, they again enter food. Vyasa tells his son that it is incorrect and asks him to continue his penance.

After some more time, Shuka returns and conveys to his father that Brahman is nothing but Life. Because, it is the life that is making everything active and any object on the earth is inactive without life in it. The father sends the son to the forest again.

Shuka was in a deep penance this time and after some more time, comes with an explanation for Brahman. He says this time that the Mind is the Brahman. Because, it is where all this thoughts and ideas start, develop and end finally. It is the one which is playing a crucial part in all the human beings activities to do or not to do something. Yet, the untiring father, Vyasa, is not convinced and sends his son into the deep woods again.

The boy retires to the forest with more zeal and vigor to know the real form of Brahman. He forces himself to still more severe penances and comes home after some more time and submits to his father; Oh father, Brahman is nothing but Knowledge. Though one has food, life and mind. Without the knowledge of realizing all these, there is nothing. Sage Vyasa seems not to be fully convinced and asks his son to explore still further.

Sage Shuka returns to forest and this time after a long time, he returns to his father to submit that happiness or eternal bliss is nothing but Brahman. Here, the real meaning of happiness is contentment. Though you have everything at your disposal, lack of contentment would throw all this into dark and make you unhappy.

Then, Vyasa explains to his son, Oh, my dear son, Brahman contains all the aspects you put forth till now. But that is not the entirety of Brahman. Note the subtle difference that this is all Brahman but Brahman is just not this. Brahman is nothing but Truth, eternal or immortal, the soul and infinite. In real terms of Shastra, ananda is not happiness but infiniteness.

The term Sachidananda is made of 'SAT' 'CHIT' 'ANANDA'. Thus, Sri Sainath Maharaj is always existent, eternal or immortal and infinite shape of Brahman in physical form.

The Road To Self Inquiry

Aum Sairam

Ask yourselves 3 questions and If you crave for an answer then you would very soon be making a journey into yourselves

Who am I ?
Where Have I Come From?
Where Am I going to Go after I Die?

The answers can be given, but then It is much better If they were discovered by you on your own, as that would show you your progress.

Please don't make a mistake and say your Name to the first question, As long as you identify yourself with the body, the pain and suffering stay. Once you realize that you are the soul, life becomes much easy.

As long as we Identify ourselves with this body all the pain and suffering, praises, insults, good or bad are directed towards us.

Once we start identifying ourselves as the SOUL, things change. Ideal way is to offer all or deeds to the God, that way we are not affected by the outcome.

Just as we have to come to suffer our negative deeds similarly we have to come to enjoy our positive deeds as well. Once it is all offered to the Lord whatever the fruit of our actions he is the receiver and we are liberated from the result.

But to get this feeling, First the ego has to be killed, I am the doer that is wrong. As long as ego exists it will not let us offer all our deeds to him. It is only natural, so don't worry if you cannot get rid of this ego so easily, All your life you have lived with the thinking I am the doer, ego was supreme. Rome Wasn't Built In A Day. If the effort is sincere then the ego will die. He will help. But you have to take the first step.

One of the easier things to do is to offer your worries and problems to Him and let go. You will see the difference.

Sai Devotion

Aum Sairam

In nature, when two individuals meet, either they are attracted to or repelled by each other, i.e., they meet as friends or foes. Their respective strength, position, powers, sympathies and attitude towards external objects will determine the question of friendship or enmity. In the case of divine beings, the attributes in question include superior power, vast strength and protection or help to all creatures. So, normally fear and awe are the first responses to be aroused when such a creature encounters the divine. These responses are followed by gratitude and service, and the creature may subsequently rise to or be risen to the level of being in friendship and love with the divine. The spirit of perfect unreserved surrender ending in merger accompanies this.

The ladder of salvation begins with fear and humility and ends with transmutation of the fearing and separate individual self into the supreme self. Fear, like many other emotions, is seen to be a transient phase. Fear, though natural at first or early stages of contact must pass or be changed into higher emotions and sentiments. Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. However, it cannot even in the lowest forms, remain unalloyed fear. In higher cultures especially, it is seen to be soon transformed to awe. Awe, which recognizes the sublimity of Divine power, marks a distinct cultural advance. Even awe must be transient. If not, one would contemplate their life’s time on witnessing God’s miracles and stay at distance from God. It is unhealthy for one to remain longer in this stage of spiritual ladder.

As fear is the most common, almost normal beginning of devotion, it is held to be a virtue. However, it is a virtue only at one stage. Fear is the teething ring or a rattle that has to be shunned away at one point in order to see the higher states of bliss.

Mahashivratri

Aum Sai Shiv

Maha Shivratri, the night of the worship of Lord Shiv, occurs on the 14th night of the new moon during the dark half of the month of Phalgun [Feb/March] when all Hindus offer special prayer to the lord of destruction.

Three reasons to celebrate Shivratri:
1 - The absolute formless God, Sadashiv appeared in the form of "Lingodbhav Moorti" exactly at midnight on Maha Shivratri. That is why all Lord Shiv devotees keep vigil during the night of Shivratri and do "Shivling abhishekh" [coronation of the phallic idol] at midnight.

Did You Know?
God in his manifestation as Vishnu made his appearance as Lord Krishna at Gokul at midnight, 180 days after Shivratri, commonly known as Janmashtami. Thus, the circle of one year is divided into two by these two auspicious days of the Hindu Calendar.

2 - Lord Shiva was married to Mata Parvati on Shivratri. Remember Lord Shiv minus Mata Parvati is pure Nirgun Brahman. With his illusive power, [Mata, Parvati] He becomes the "Sagun Brahman" for the purpose of the pious devotion of his devotees.

3 - It is also believed that on Shivratri, Lord Shiv became Neelkant by swallowing the deadly poison that came up from the ocean during the churning of "Kshir Sagar". The poison was so deadly that even a drop in His stomach, which represents the universe, would have annihilated the entire world. Hence, He held it in His neck, which turned blue due to the effect of poison. Shivratri is therefore also a day of thanksgiving to the Lord for protecting us from annihilation.

The 14th shloka of Shivmahimna Stotra says: "Oh three eyed Lord, when the poison came up through the churning of the Ocean by the gods and demons, they were all aghast with fear as if the untimely end of all creation was imminent. In your kindness, you drank all the poison that still makes your throat blue. Oh Lord, even this blue mark does but increase your glory. What is apparently a blemish becomes an ornament in one intent on ridding the world of fear."

Let us all pray to Sri Shiv Sai for protection always.

Secret of Happiness

Aum Sairam

How many times have you thought,
"It doesn't get any better than this!"
How many times have you actually said to someone,
"It doesn't get any better than this!"
Make a conscious decision to use this thought as many times a week or a day as you can. Don't wait for a major accomplishment in your life to verbalize this thought. See how many times you can express it in your day-to-day living.

This thought can come from:
• Enjoying lunch with a friend
• Walking with that special someone in your life
• A child's hug
• Someone who thanks you for helping them
• Reading a good book
• Watching a sunrise or sunset
• Watching birds come to a feeder

When I first heard this expression, I started using it at every opportunity I could. It made me appreciate all the little things that happen in my everyday life that made me happy.
"Happiness consists more in small conveniences of pleasures that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man on the course of his life."

Remember life is beautiful, because our heavenly Father is beautiful...know Him, love Him and thank Him for everything in your life...be blessed...he loves you loads.

Oh Lord Listen To Me

Aum Sai Shiv

Happy Maha Shivratri

Oh Lord Shiva, listen to me if you will, listen not if you will not: I cannot rest contented unless I sing of you.
Oh Lord Shiva, accept me if you will, accept not if you will not: I cannot rest contented unless I worship you.
Oh Lord Shiva, love me if you will, love not if you will not: I cannot rest contented unless I hold you in my arms
Oh Lord Shiva, look at me if you will, look not if you will not: I cannot rest contented unless I gaze at you in overpowering longing.
Oh Lord Shiva, I worship you and revel in a thrill of pleasure.

Fear

Aum Sairam

The deepest fear we have is the fear of being alone. It is a fear of isolation. A fear of separation. The source of the fear is our original separation from God, love and Presence.

We try to escape this fear by having someone in our life who we believe will be here for us. It helps us to avoid the feeling of separation. But it does not really work, at least not for long. Instead, our partner reflects to us all the old wounds and unfulfilled needs within us which are still in need of healing and release. We are also forced to face our limiting beliefs, our judgments and our control patterns.

Eventually we will have to awaken out of these old wounds and limitations and live more fully in the present moment. It is only Presence that truly dissolves the subtle feelings of separation.

Need To Prepare For Death

Aum Sairam

Why do you fear death? Death is nothing to be afraid of. Of course we lose contact with our near and dear ones. But that happens in life also as we move away from our friends and relatives. We may feel sad for some days but we always recover.

Every day we die. Yes, what is sleep? Is it not a form of death? But then are we afraid of sleep? We all know that we cannot do without sleep. It helps us refresh ourselves for the next day and also helps us forget many unpleasant things. Similarly death delivers us from great pain when our bodies become old and diseased. It also delivers us from the burdens of our present life and gives us a fresh start. Without death life would become extremely horrible and painful. Death is necessary.

People who have faith in God and apply His teachings in life have absolutely nothing to fear from death. Such people are taken to the highest realms after death and often do not have to take another birth. Repeating Gods name and remembering Him at all times burns our samskaras and without samskaras we cannot have another birth.

How to prepare ourselves for death? The first step is that we must realize that death is inevitable, every living being has to die. The second step is to meditate on death. We must think of death at times and realize that one day we must leave everything and go away. Thinking in this manner will take away all our undue attachments and prepare ourselves for the ultimate journey. Sincere Buddhist monks live as if the very next moment may be their last. So they don't get attached to anything and are always mentally prepared to let go of everything. They realize that everything in this world including all relationships are impermanent. What only matters is the ultimate truth, what we call God.

So cultivate renunciation and detachment. Do your work but don't unnecessarily get mentally involved in anything. Never think that anybody else will not survive if you are not around. We see so many people die everyday but does the world stop after they are gone? The world will go on smoothly regardless of whether we are alive or dead.

So never think that we have to complete some work before going. We will definitely try to do everything properly while we are alive but if we have to go without completing the work well and good, somebody else will complete it, we should not worry. Many people die painful deaths thinking what will happen to their near and dear ones after they are gone or who will complete their work. But all these thoughts are unnecessary. God is running this world and not us. Live every moment prepared to leave everything and go. If you can do this you have prepared yourself for death.

A small child one day asked his mother why death was so painful. His mother said that death was not painful at all. The surprised child asked how. The mother asked him to sit in a chair and hold the handles extremely tightly. She then tried to lift the child from the chair. It was an extremely painful experience for the child who cried a lot. Next the mother asked the child to sit in the chair but not hold the handles. Now she was able to lift him easily without having to hurt him.

Almost all of us are like the child holding tight to the handles of life. That is why death is so painful for us. But to those who live the life but don't clutch the handles, death is just going from one plane of existence to another. There is absolutely no pain.

So don't cling on to life. Enjoy life as if you have come on a vacation here. When you go for a vacation to a beautiful place you enjoy the experience immensely. But you are not very sorry when you have to come back. This is because all throughout the vacation you knew that you have come only for a few days. You also know that your real place is at home where you are returning. So during life also remember always that this vacation is also for a few days. We all have to return home to Gods feet.

Send letters to God regularly in the form of prayers. Then when you face death you will find that God is waiting for you with a smiling face ready to take you home, where you really belong.

So never fear death. Prepare for it!

"Our ideal is not the spirituality that withdraws from life but the conquest of life by the power of the spirit."

Sri Sai Says

Aum Sairam

When you have determination to reach God, It must be accompanied with patience. Without patience it will only lead to frustration.

Be patient and love God, Simply for the reason of pure love. Do not expect His Grace. Grace comes only when He wills, and only at the right time.

It will pour abundantly one day. But in the meantime, you must work hard on your faith in Him, your determination to reach Him, your patience and perseverance and your sincere love for Him. God gives all, and expects nothing.

You too are God, learn to give, give, give .........

Baba’s Day

Aum Sairam

May This Thursday [Baba's Day] Bring You Strength, Good luck, Happiness, Success And Joy

Many people are disheartened by the fear that such merger is beyond their reach in this Kali age, however much they may try. But, this is a type of weakness and nothing more. It is not a question of the path of yoga adopted; whatever the yoga path, if one has Faith in Oneself and Faith in the Shastra, the goal is bound to be won. Some pretend to have Faith in both, all the while doubting them in the heart of hearts. Each one can discover for himself the measure of his faith by the results. If the experience of merger is absent, it is due to the absence of these two.

They must be in one, as the very breath of existence. Then only can they succeed in Sadhana and attain the Aikya. Of course, those without Faith are without anything. They cannot benefit by advice. The present state of affairs is due to men losing Faith in themselves and in the Shastra's. Even those who claim to have the Faith do not conduct themselves according to the Shastra's and nourish them. Consequently, Goodness and the Satwic quality have gone out of the world and wicked habits and degradation have gained the upper hand.

If this atmosphere is to be transformed, and if the world must enjoy security and peace, every Asthika, every pious God fearing person, must cultivate Faith in himself and in the Shastra's and practice in one's own life the disciplines enjoined in the Shastra's. Naturally, some modifications may have to be made out of consideration for the place, time and individual, but, the fundamental outlook and significant meaning should not be changed. The means by which those ideals are to be reached may be changed, but not the ideals themselves.

A child may refuse to swallow a pill, when it is in bed suffering from fever; it may clamor for a plantain instead. Do you know what to do at that time? Do not omit the pill; insert the pill inside the plantain and offer it to the child to be swallowed. Its desire is satisfied; the fever, too, comes down. The fundamental has not been discarded; it has remained unchanged; only the method of administering it has been modified.

Peace And Happiness

Aum Sairam

May This Thursday [Baba's Day] Bring You Strength, Good luck, Happiness, Success And Joy

Sri Sai bless everybody on this holy Thursday and fill your lives with joy and peace. Human perspective is so different. If a class of students is presented with a glass filled to half with water and asked to comment on it, I am sure no two answers would be the same. It is the matter of perceiving, some could say the glass is half empty or the others could say it is half full. Though both describe it correctly it is how we view it is significant. Those who have described glass as being half full have a positive, and optimistic view in life.

We have all faced difficult situations in life. While passing those hard moments we feel nobody goes through worse situations than we have. It is a known fact that grass is always greener on the other side isn't it? One thing we forget to do in our life is to learn from our life situations. Life is a big arena each stage we pass through teaches us different things, those who are wise learn from it, others miss the opportunity to learn from it and go through the same roller coaster of sufferings. Let us remember that when going through difficult phases in life we should thank God that things are as they are if they were any worse then perhaps we could not imagine the consequences. Let us thank god for giving us those tests or problems for He knows our capacity and amazingly He gives what we can cope with.

Surprisingly today I was thinking on those lines and I get this message. Let me tell you how I get the messages which I send every Thursday. I always keep Shri Sai Satcharitra near my PC and have a picture of Sri Sai in the room. I have book mark of Sri Sai's picture leaning on the masjid wall with some quotes. I look at Sri Sai's picture and seek His guidance in giving the message, I find it better to put the responsibility on somebody rather than take it on myself. A bad but useful practice learnt at work.

Anyway I take the bookmark with Sri Sai's picture and insert in the book. And the first sentence my sight falls on I take it as the message and the first thought it comes to my mind after reading the message I take it as the guidance of Sri Sai and put it into words to send to you all. If it is right or wrong, I have no idea. I find answers in such gesture and I feel those who believe in Sri Sai seek the answers in the same way. So putting the whole responsibility on His frail yet strong shoulders I post to my beloved Sai family. Rest is up to Him to direct everybody.

"This reminds us of a similar story of Kabir who seeing a woman grinding corn said to his Guru, Nipathiranjana, "I am weeping because I feel the agony of being crushed in this wheel of worldly existence like the corn in the hand-mill." Nipathiranjana replied, "Do not be afraid; hold fast to the handle of knowledge of this mill, as I do, and do not wander far away from the same but turn inward to the Center, and you are sure to be saved." Chapter 1 Shri Sai Satcharitra.

Each sentence in Shri Sai Satcharitra has different meaning for those seeking answers. In this context I find Kabirs lamenting about His inability to cope with the tribulations of Samsara and is seeking guidance from his Guru. His Guru asks him to hold on to the knowledge alternatively to the holy feet of God, always and not to let it go come what may realize the essence that world is illusion and god is ultimate and take everything as the gift of God. Such man has no reason to feel unhappy. He is happy as He sees the positive side of all the problems.

Accepting Sri Sai As Guru

Aum Sairam

If the devotees of Sri Sai Baba have had some other Gurus previously, and so think that they are being unfaithful to them, if they treat Sri Sai as their Guru now, no such doubt need be entertained by them, since Sri Sai is the Guru of Guru’s, Samartha Sadguru King of Guru’s and yogis. He has powers to command the entire world and also to control the five elements. If any disciple of a Guru comes under protection of Sri Sai, the Guru will be pleased. Some Guru’s with an eye on the wealth and power of their disciples, will try to create some unpleasant situations with some concocted stories.

Sri Sai also was not for changing Guru’s. He always checked to see what type of disciple he was and under what circumstances he had left his previous Guru and come to him. There are a number of disciples who would worship a particular Guru or God for some time and if they did not gain anything, they would change their Guru’s or Gods. They would run to the Guru or God who fulfilled their wishes. Such persons are after material benefits and not spiritual advancement, being without faith and patience. When they came to Sri Sai, he would tell them, "What is required for you is not another Guru. If you cannot have undeterred devotion and gratitude towards your Guru, but come to me, no useful purpose will be served and you cannot benefit anything. Therefore, first of all you should learn how to serve your own Guru in the correct manner and do not keep changing your Guru." To those who approached Sri Sai and saw his greatness personally, and were unable to surrender themselves completely, our appeal to them: "Previously there was no Guru equal to Sri Sai. In future also we cannot get such a Guru.

Let us prostrate to this Sachidanand Samartha Sadguru Sainath, and request Him to make us understand this true Avatar, before we complete the Parayana of His Life History. We will also pray to Him to see that we have abundant devotion for Him with His devotion lasting our lifetime. When the life goes out of our body our kith and kin and material things do not come with us. We also pray to Sri Sai to be with us in our solitary journey and to give us moksha or higher form of life in the next birth and be with us in all the future births.

Baba's Day

Aum Sairam

May This Thursday [Baba's Day] Bring You Strength, Good luck, Success, Happiness And Joy.

Mujhe duniya se kya lena dena
Hath Sai ka jab sar pe
Mukh mein mere naam Sai ka
Seesh sada charanon pe

[What do I have to do with earthly dealings? As long as I have your blessings Sri Sai, I lay at your feet, always chanting your divine name]

When Panduranga Dixit the renowned lyricist penned the above words, he was probably feeling that state of esoteric bliss. Sri Sai Himself lived up to this tradition. The Saintly Father of Shirdi lived His entire life in the thoughts of God. Always uttering, "Allah Malik", Sri Sai gave immense importance to remembering God's name. Sri Sai spent His entire duration in Shirdi in this God intoxicated state known as "Mast" in the Sufi tradition. When one thinks of God before every action, sensuous or spiritual, the desires for things transitory will surely wane away, so said Sri Sai .

The purpose of mind is to think. If it is given things of sensuous nature, the thoughts will be on the senses. If the object is Sri Sai, the benefits are immense. Sensuous pleasures are transitory at best and will lead to the destruction at worst. On the other hand, if Sri Sai is made the object of ones thoughts, it leads to a state of fulfillment that is permanent. Pursuit of things of earthly nature leads to longing that never ends while the thoughts on Sri Sai leads to contentment that ever stays.

Let us start this beautiful Thursday [Baba's Day] with the reminiscence of Shri Hemadpanth. Oh Sri Sai, the wish fulfilling tree of the Devotees, Let us never forget and lose sight of Your Lotus Feet; we have been troubled with births and deaths in this sansar, now free us from this cycle of births and deaths. Restrain us from the outgoing of our senses to their objects and introvert us and bring us face to face with the Atma [Self]. As long as this outgoing tendency of the senses and the mind is not checked, there is no prospect of self realization.

Neither son, nor wife nor friend will be of any use in the end. It is only You, Who will give us salvation and happiness. Destroy completely our tendency for discussions and other evil matters, let out tongue get a passion for chanting Your name [Aum Sai Sri Sai Jaya Jaya Sai]. Drive out our thoughts, good or otherwise and make us forget our body and house, and do away with our egoism. Make us ever remember Your name and forget all other things. Remove the restlessness of our mind, and make it steady and calm. If you just clasp us, the darkness of night of our ignorance will vanish and we shall live happily in Your light.

Mind

Aum Sairam

May This Thursday [Baba's Day] Bring You Strength, Good luck, Success, Happiness And Joy.

Sri Sai's love is unbounded. It knows no growth or diminution. Worldly love is momentary and fickle.

Divine love is unchanging and eternal. Sri Sai is the embodiment of love. His infinite love is offered to all in equal measure. Some may feel that they had experienced Sri Sai's love for a time and had been deprived of it later. This reflects only their own feelings and not the attitude of Sri Sai.

Nature is like a clean mirror which reflects your feelings and attitudes. It is your own actions and thoughts, whether good or bad, which are reflected back to you. Sri Sai's love remains same always.

Pleasure and sorrow are not inherent in the nature of man. They are products of the mind. Bliss is the true nature of man. But it can be realized only when the love of Sri Sai is experienced. The sense of "my-ness" has to be totally eradicated. You must strive for the welfare of all… Fill your hearts this Thursday [Baba’s Day] with this sacred feeling. Banish from your minds all thoughts of hatred and envy.

Sri Sai Says

Aum Sairam

Divinity neither comes nor goes. God is total love. It is important to remember that you and the world are temporary, but Truth and love are permanent. Love is god, so live in love; Truth is God, so follow truth. Like the two wings of a bird, truth and love can make you fly to noble heights.

Follow the greatest path, the path of love. Take the example of the magnet and the iron: they unite, and the iron becomes one with the magnet. Likewise, the knower of Brahman [the Universal Absolute] becomes Brahman. You are children of immortality, you are eternal. The relationship between you and God is eternal.

The body changes through many births, but the mind and deeds continue from birth to birth. Just as an auditor totals the accounts of the day and carries the balance over onto the next page, our mind follows to the next life. You should be able to control the mind by controlling the senses - then merge in truth and experience oneness with God.

Knower of the Supreme in Vedantic parlance has been defined as "Advaita Darshanam" [recognizing the one without a second]. That is to see the One in the many, unity in diversity. There may be many names and forms, but you have to recognize that the Atma Principle in all of them is one and the same. It is not enough to say this in words. You must make it a living experience. Only then can one experience enduring bliss. Such a person alone can be called a true knower of the Supreme.

People claim to make offerings to God, even without knowing where He is. When the Lord is ever by the side of man, he is searching for God all over the world.

One must purify one's consciousness instead of being led astray by the external. You have to rectify your conduct and actions, because everything depends on your actions.

Adhering to the righteous path, with a pure heart, you have to divinize your life. All spiritual disciplines have been laid down only for this purpose.

All the prayers, repetition of God's name and ritualistic worship that are offered are intended only to purify the heart.

Words of Wisdom

Aum Sairam

Do you have the practice of thinking positively for yourself and of having good wishes for others? Look carefully at the pattern of your thoughts. If you cannot keep your thoughts completely positive, you cannot become a well-wisher for others. How can you bring benefit to others if you are choking on your own thoughts? In fact, negative thoughts are like poison. Positive thoughts are like nectar. Sri Sai wants you to practice paying attention to making your thought patterns absolutely pure. Not just positive but pure. Pure thoughts will allow you to be peaceful. Once you experience peace within, others are able to feel that peace through the vibrations.

Review your life and ask; how much sorrow have I given and how much sorrow have I taken from others? We have all experienced loss from this. The taking of sorrow brought pain to your heart and it is now time to finish it. The sorrow of many of you have taken has not finished yet. Actually, who is really to blame for that; the one who gave the sorrow or the one who took it? Sri Sai is the remover of sorrow. This is one of His titles.

If your pain has not finished then where are you placing Sri Sai in your life? Is He at the centre of your life? It is really very simple; just keep the awareness of Sri Sai and He will heal you. He will work as a healer in your life. He is actually the one who can heal all hurt and sorrow in a second. The true awareness of Sri Sai is very, very beneficial to the soul.

Understand the significance of everything that is happening. 'This one is doing this, that one is doing that'; the moment you have such thoughts you break the love in your relationship with those people. In fact, Sri Sai’s law is to bring everyone together with spiritual love.

let your face be such that just by seeing it those who come to you become happy. Sit with them and speak with love and affection. Fill them with power and give the feeling of what expression is. Be careful not to come into familiarity with anyone. You should never think; this one is my student and I am their teacher. Human love pulls people towards each other. In one way or another you become subservient to that person. Anyone who comes should feel; these are Sri Sai's devotee.

Others get inspired by seeing your behavior. Become an image by practicing what Sri Sai is teaching. We need to give so much love to people that they are able to remove their attachment and attraction to the whole world. We need to teach them how to connect to one. To make others equal to you, sustain them with knowledge and remembrance of Sri Sai. We need to pay full attention to everyone who comes. Just as Sri Sai saw me as a soul and made me belong to Himself, in the same way we should not see people as white or black, rich or poor, but just look at them as pure souls.

Sri Sai Say’s On This Thursday

Aum Sairam

In this world, there are two types of intellectuals. The first type are those who are totally materialistic in their outlook. They have in their mind only the physical and worldly goals and gains. They are fascinated by the external appearance of a gigantic tree with its numerous branches and twigs, but they are not interested in finding its "roots". Vedic philosophers are the second type of intellectuals, who are not fascinated by the external appearance of the tree but evince great delight in finding the "roots". People who are worldly in outlook waste their time in watering the "branches", whereas Vedic philosopher water the "roots"and thereby enjoy the "fruits".

Surrender Our Worries

Aum Sairam

We should not worry. We should have implicit faith in Sri Sai, in our Inner Pilot or in our spiritual Master. We have to feel that not only does Sri Sai know what is best for us, but He will do what is best for us. We worry because we do not know what is going to happen to us tomorrow, or even the next minute. We feel that if we do not do something for ourselves, then who is going to do it? But if we can feel that there is someone who thinks of us infinitely more than we think of ourselves, and if we can consciously offer our responsibility to Him, saying, "You be responsible. You be responsible for what I do and say and grow into," then our past, our present and our future become His problem. As long as we try to be responsible for our own life, we will be miserable. We will not be able to properly utilize even two minutes out of every twenty four hours we have. When we can feel that we are Sri Sai's conscious instruments and He is the Doer, then we will not worry about our destiny; we will not be afraid of our destiny, for we will know and feel that it is in the all-loving hands of Sri Sai, who will do everything in us, through us and for us.

Let us consciously offer our very existence what we have and what we are to Sri Sai. What we have is aspiration to grow into the very image of Sri Sai, into infinite peace, Light and bliss. And what we are right now is just ignorance, the ignorance sea. If we can offer our aspiration-cry and our ignorance sea to Sri Sai, then our problem is solved. We should not and we need not ever worry about destiny. On the strength of our surrender, we become inseparably one with Sri Sai's cosmic Will.

Sainath's Remarks On Awakening

Aum Sairam

Sri Sai's famous parables and His cryptic remarks are well known. Sri Sai's comments were always impregnated with a message directed towards the individual who is addressed. Once, a devotee wanted to take a photograph of Sri Sai. When Sri Sai was approached regarding this, He said, No, it is enough if he knocks a wall down". The devotee stood confused. Later, an explanation was given as follows: The photograph is one's likeness of Sri Sai. The wall is "I am the body" idea which is an obstacle that interferes with identifying the spirit.

One straightforward remark of Sri Sai has always been "awaken the self" The nature of self is not easily explained. The pursuit to know the self is as varied as the individuals themselves. However, it is said that one must have an honest yearning and God's grace to know the nature of self.

Now, why should one know the "Self"? The most famous Hindu scripture Shri Bhagwad Geeta says, " With the self unattached to external contact, he finds happiness in the Self; with the self engaged in the meditation of Brahman, he attains endless happiness". Swami Chinmayananda on his commentary on Shri Bhagwad Geeta explains further, "Why should I deny myself the brilliant flashes of momentary joys in exchange for a steady stone like, impregnable monotony, call it equilibrium or equanimity, peace or God hood? Any sensible seeker entering the halls of spiritual study with his intellect bright and clear should come to doubt its efficacy and utility. Though the process of self development is essentially a process of detachment, this technique of negation does not take us to an empty and purposeless zero, but when we have negated all that is false, we come to experience and live a total positivist.

When the dreamer has renounced all his contacts with the dream world and thrown away his dream personality, he does not become a non entity, but he rediscovers himself to be the more vital, more effective personality.

Sadguru Sri Sainath's remarks on awakening one's self refers to this state of awakening that is more vital, blissful and permanent.

A Blessing from Our Father

Aum Sairam

Dear precious child, having a compassionate heart is the most beautiful thing to ever have happened to anyone. It has happened to You. You are compassionate. But your compassion dies when it comes to your own people around you. Don't you see the urge to see them with eyes of mercy and great compassion. Understand their situations, see what and where they lack, and be graceful in your behavior towards them, precious one.

You come to Me and speak to Me and pray to Me but don't you see the children who have so many hopes and great visions for you? The people around you, need you to be compassionate towards them, they have hopes on you. You can win everyone around you with your love for them, don't just restrict your love for the special people who love you. Go out of your line, reach people who think that you are worthless and useless and egoistic and stubborn. Show all what love is.

I have dressed you in my clothing of love, compassion, mercy, generosity, kindness and all the goodness in this world. Stand in front of the mirror and see for yourself, what a face you are to Me. Your eyes speak a million sweet words to Me each day, let that love and light shine to all those around you, who need to see it, precious one. Respect and love all My children. Never hurt any heart, for earthly and materialistic pleasures of this world. They are really not worth that much. You are blessed with heart that love, above all and they expect that love back. Love is the most important and treasured thing in this world, sweet child. Never let it go in vain. You are a precious child of mine, remain precious always in the eyes of all my children, dear one.

You love Me but yet you abuse my children! You care for Me but yet you are cold towards all those who are in love with you and want love from you! You speak in a sweet voice to Me but yet you sound egoistic to my children who you should be sweet to! You try to win my heart with words of praise and appreciation but you fail to notice all those who love you , stand for you and work for you and help you.

Don’t let their love go unnoticed. Don't let your compassion die, my precious child. Be compassionate and you will notice and feel My love for you always. Be compassionate towards everyone whoever I have placed in your life. Put your ego aside and look at them through eyes of mercy and compassion and love. Pray for them, love them and be for them always. Be humble in your attitude precious child. Remember, your love for Me? Your love for Me comprises that you being My child, should love all. Then will you truly be loving Me in the REAL SENSE.I don't need your sweet words for Me, but yes I do need your sweet words for all my children. Do not be harsh, rude or egoistic ever. Let there be oneness around. Be with Me and Be with everyone. Love Me and Love everyone. Care for Me and care for everyone . Go and mend hearts. Go to where your home is. Your actual Home ,and love all. See Me in all, precious child. See Me in all. This is what I ask of You. Your Love for all will make Me proud of you.

Be blessed sweet child.

Creators Love Letter

Aum Sairam

I am the God who knew every detail of your life while you were still developing in your mother's womb, before you ever took a single action. I know every thing you will ever do or say, and I know every sin you will ever commit, because I see in all times at once. Knowing all of this, I still reached out My hand to you; I allowed you to embrace it and to receive My salvation. Do you really think that there is something that you could suddenly do now that would shock Me? Do you think you can disappoint Me to the point that I would want to break fellowship with you? Of course not! I know all things and you have been thoroughly and completely known. And I love you.

So do not allow those type of concerns to keep you from drawing close to Me. Know that I am a God of My word. When I said that I have cleansed you from all unrighteousness, that includes the unrighteousness that you just repented of this morning and still feel dirty about.

Child of Mine, do not allow your failures or your shortcomings to keep you from pressing into Me. Draw near and experience My love for you, for I am the God of love. Draw near to Me and experience My love afresh. Become secure in My love for you.

Yes, there are times that I chasten those whom I love. There may be times when it is necessary for Me to correct you. But the faster you run back to Me and embrace My ways, the less likely it is that I will need to chasten you. Yet even when I do have to discipline you, My correction is gentle and it is never to destroy you. It is to set you back on the right course, to restore you to right relationship with Me.

What parent among you hates his child when the child misbehaves and has to be disciplined? That is not normal, is it? You discipline your children because you love them and want them to grow and mature in the way they should go. I am the same with My children. And I say to you that there are some dysfunctional parents who withdraw their affection from their own as a punishment, to show their disapproval. But child, I am not a dysfunctional parent. I am perfect in love and My love for you is perfect, even when you do not behave perfectly.

I will not reject you or push you away when you run back to Me.

Yes, I do discipline out of love, but the purpose of that discipline is to restore. And the faster you respond to Me, the lighter the discipline will be. So never fear My discipline and do not run from Me.

Instead run to Me and receive My love and My grace and My forgiveness. If you are
dirty, then I will wash you and cleanse you and set white robes of righteousness upon you. So never use feeling guilty or dirty about sin as an excuse to pull away from Me. Instead, run to Me quickly and be instantly purged of it.

Child, I love you and I desire for you to be in close and right relationship with Me. I want to show you more of Myself, and of My nature and of My character. I want to lavish more and more of My love upon you, and I want to hold you in My embrace. Child, I will not force you in this area; you must come to Me willingly. So come to Me and receive My love. Draw close to Me and I will draw close to you. I have loved you with an everlasting love and My plans for you are good, that you be filled with peace and joy and hope in Me. Therefore, any time that you feel far from Me, stop walking away. Turn around and run back to Me, and know that I will receive you with open arms and embrace you.

I love you child, so draw close to Me.

Faith In Sri Sai

Aum Sairam

Sri Sai said, "My treasury is full, and I can give anyone, what he wants, but I have to see whether he is qualified to receive what I give" in Shri Sai Satcharitra, Ch. XVI, XVII.

"From where shall we get Rs. 25,000/- for our daughter's marriage?" said an anxious husband to his wife. He worked as an assistant in a government office, was strictly honest and never accepted a bribe. His salary was just enough to balance the expenditure.

The wife, however, was unperturbed. Quietly she said to her husband, "I have sent a telegram to my father. He will answer it at the right time."

The husband could not understand. His father-in-law had passed away a few years ago, without leaving anything for his daughter. In sheer wonderment, he asked his wife, "To whom have you sent the telegram? Your father is no more!"

"To my heavenly Father Sri Sai, of course," said the wife. "His stores are always full. He will send us the required money at the right time."

The husband said, "I didn't know you were that senseless! You didn't realize the gravity of the situation. The date of the marriage is fast approaching. And we have no money. What shall we do?"

Some days passed by. The husband worried and fumed and fretted, but could do nothing. Then, one evening, as he returned from work, he was exited. "Your Father had received the telegram," he announced. "And the answer has come today!" He proceeded to tell his wife that one of his distant relatives, whom he had almost forgotten, passed away leaving him a legacy of a lakh of rupees.

The woman's happiness knew no bounds. And, lifting her tear-touched eyes in gratitude to Sri Sai, she sang a song of praise.

Her faith had triumphed. Faith is not believing that Sri Sai can but faith is believing that Sri Sai will.

Face To Face With God

Aum Sairam

Where is God?

There is no place where He is not.

Just one thread penetrates all the flowers in a garland, so also, one self penetrates all the living beings. He is hidden in all beings and all forms, like oil in seed, butter in milk and mind in brain, fetus in the womb, sun behind the clouds, fire in wood, fragrance in flowers, gold in quartz, microbes in blood and life in the body.

He is not very far, but nearer to us than we are to ourselves. It is wrong to think that He could be found only in Kailash, Rameswaram, Mecca, Jerusalem, Vatican, sky or heaven.

The body is His moving temple. The sanctum is the chamber of our own heart. Sri Sai says: Close your eyes. Withdraw your senses from the sensual objects. Search Him in the heart with one pointed mind, devotion, and pure love.

You will surely find Him. He is waiting there with outstretched arms to embrace you. If you can not find Him there, You cannot find Him anywhere else.

God is the Supreme Being, the creator and ruler of the universe. His attributes are infinite power, limitless wisdom boundless love, inexhaustible goodness, interminable justice absolute truth.

It is Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent. Its glory, majesty, sovereignty is unparallel. God will express itself everywhere as Law. The laws of gravitation, cohesion, relatively, cause and effect, so also nature as a whole must be explained. It must have some cause.

The cause must be different from the effect. It must be some super-natural, i.e.; God.

Grace of God?

Aum Sairam

The grace of God can be achieved only through the practical service. The service is possible through devotion. The devotion is possible through knowledge. The God’s grace is like salary. Service is like your monthly work done in the job. Devotion is like the appointment order. Knowledge is like the eligible degree for the job. Degree gives appointment order and the appointment order gives you salary through the job work. Only this job work or service [karma] is directly linked to the salary. The degree and the appointment order are responsible for the job work but they have no direct link with the salary. Knowledge is like water and devotion is like fertilizer. Service is like the tree. The fruit appears on the tree only.
