Udi Mantra/ Vibuthi Mantra

English Translation

Sacred Holy and Supreme is Baba's VibhuthiPouring Forth in brilliant stream, this play of Vibhuthi. So auspicious is its might, it grants liberationBaba's Vibhuthi, its power protects me

When we recite this mantra, we say “I take refuge in the supremely sacred vibhuti of the Lord, the wonderful vibhuti which bestows liberation, the sacred state which I desire to attain.”
Since this mantra is so powerful, we should recite it with respect and with sincerity in order that we gain the full benefit from it.

Vibhuti is a reminder that ash is the end product of all matter. Vibhuti has also an aspect of immortality, which makes it a fit offering for worshipping God. Only the Vibhuti remains unchanged, since it is the final result of the annihilation of the five elements of creation. It is symbolic of the ultimate reality that remains when our ego is burnt away by the fire of illumination.

"The Vibhuti that you smear on your forehead is intended to convey the basic spiritual lesson that everything will be reduced to ashes, including the brow that wears it".

Sai Ashthothara Shata Namavali

Aum Sai Ram

Sai Ashthothara Shata Namavali Mantra is usually chanted on Thursdays along with Nav Guruwar Vratham to get Blessing of Sai Baba. It is also read every day before the Aarti Commence. It is 108 Different Names by Which Sai Baba is Called.

This is a garland of 108 sacred names in praise of Sri Sai Baba, each describing one of His countless Divine attributes and powers.

Each of these 108 sacred names begins with AUM SRI SAI and ends with the word NAMAHA, what does these four words signify?

AUM:

The chanting of each names starts with Aum which is the primordial sound from which the whole creation has emerged. All the sounds in the Universe are only waves or vibrations of this primeval sound which is therefore, considered most sacred. For the same reason, Aum represents and also symbolises the Brahman or the all-pervading Supreme Cosmic Consciousness itself. It is called 'Pranava mantra', Sacred syllable having spiritual significance and power.

SRI:

'Sri' signifies the subtle beauty, charm and grace of auspiciousness embedded in the Divine. It also stands for the radiance of spiritual manifestation and power in any particular deity - goddess or god.

SAI:

'Sai' is the composite form of 'Sa' indicating Sarveshwara the creator or Father of Creation and 'Ayi' indicating Shakti or the creative Energy or the Mother of creation. Thus, Sai is the embodiment of our Divine Father as well as Mother looking after our material welfare as well as our spiritual progress towards realizing the truth of our own divinity.

NAMAHA:

In common parlance, Namaha means 'my salutation or namaskaram'. Namaha has also a deeper significance, which is more relevant in these sacred names all of which end with this word. 'Na' means no, not, or nil. 'Ma' signifies delusion which makes one identify himself with the inert body (Ego) and, thereby, subjects him to ignorance, misery and death. 'Namaha', thus, signifies the surrender of one's ego to the - Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent God in recognition of the truth that we are also a part of that supreme reality. Each of these sacred names, therefore, ends in a note of reverence, salutations and surrender.

Thus 'AUM SRI SAI', at the beginning of each name is intended to elevate our vision to the sublime glory of Sri Sai while 'Namaha' at the end of each name serves to awaken in us a spirit of reverence, humility and self-surrender to the Avatar of this Age. It is in this spirit that we have to chant each of the line in the following Namavali.

It is a Lovely Mantra & gives lot of Happiness to chant. To Make the Chanting Easy PDF in Different Languages are available along with the Mp.3 Audio of the Same. Kindly Download & hear the Mantra & also read the same from PDF. Be Blessed.

Dress Code at Shirdi for Sai Baba's Darshan

Aum Sai Ram

They say there is not a single devotee in the World who has returned empty handed from Shirdi.
Be it the Wealthy or the Poor, Baba has never refused anyone.

Be it any problem, no matter how big the difficulty may be, just one darshan of Baba removes all miseries for ever.

So, devotees come to Shirdi not only from India but from all over the World.

But, soon the rules for Darshan are going to change as the Shirdi Sansthan may implement a Dress Code for Darshan at the Shirdi Temple.

Devotees, especially the Females would be barred from having Baba's darshan if they enter the Temple wearing Shorts, Minis, Sleeveless Tops, Bermudas, Jeans and other Western outfit's. In fact, exposure of body would be prohibited.

As per the Dress Code, the Dress worn by devotees should be of a decent outfit, like Saree's/Ladies full Suits for Women.

This decision was taken by the Sansthan following complaints from many a devotees,
who felt that Baba lived with Simplicity and so everyone should be appropriately dressed, when in the Samadhi Shrine, for Baba's Darshan, so as to protect the Sanctity of the Temple.

The attire problem arises when some celebrities, rich devotees or foreigners visit the temple dressed inappropriately.

According to Sansthan Trustee Sri.Ashok Khambekar, Shirdi has become an Internationally recognized Pilgrimage and so like other temple's a Dress Code should be implemented in Shirdi also.

The Dress Code will be implemented after a final decision is taken by the Sansthan in its next Trust Board Meeting.

What remains to be seen is what options does the Sansthan give to those foreigners for whom western outfits are their normal life style of dressing.

“ The Body is the Shell of the Soul.
Dress the Husk of that Shell, but the Husk often tells what the Kernel is ”......anOnymOus

NAMASTE

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF ‘NAMASTE’

It is a Sanskrit word and its defention and meaning as follows below:

The gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart of Anahata chakra. The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another. "Nama" means bow, "as" means I, and "te" means you. Therefore, Namaste literally means "bow me you" or "I bow to you."

To perform Namaste, we place the hands together at the heart charka, close the eyes, and bow the head. It can also be done by placing the hands together in front of the third eye, bowing the head, and then bringing the hands down to the heart. This is an especially deep form of respect. Although in the West the word "Namaste" is usually spoken in conjunction with the gesture, in India, it is understood that the gesture itself signifies Namaste, and therefore, it is unnecessary to say the word while bowing.

We bring the hands together at the heart chakra to increase the flow of Divine love. Bowing the head and closing the eyes helps the mind surrender to the Divine in the heart. One can do Namaste to oneself as a meditation technique to go deeper inside the heart chakra; when done with someone else, it is also a beautiful, albeit quick, meditation.

Underlying Science in this action

For a teacher and student, Namaste allows two individuals to come together energetically to a place of connection and timelessness, free from the bonds of ego-connection. If it is done with deep feeling in the heart and with the mind surrendered, a deep union of spirits can blossom.

Ideally, Namaste should be done both at the beginning and at the end . Usually, it is done at the Start & end, because the mind is active and the energy in the body and mind is more peaceful. The teacher initiates Namaste as a symbol of gratitude and respect toward her students and her own teachers and in return invites the students to connect with their lineage, thereby allowing the truth to flow—the truth that we are all one when we live from the heart.

RELAXATION

RELAXATION WHERE IT IS?

IT IS WITHIN YOU

Do you need to relax? Most of people are having a busy life and do not have time to relax. In their busy life, people are on the run moment they get up from bed to the time they retire for the day. How can you be relax when whole day is spent in meeting the deadlines, pushing schedules, getting to office, getting back to home and not having enough time for having proper meals? In addition, there can be different types of stress due to financial problems, health problems in family, lack of emotional support or work pressures. End result is we are feeling stressed mentally and physically for most part of the day. You need relaxation urgently if you are becoming easily irritable, feeling loss of energy, not enjoying your work and have a feeling of hopelessness. Even if you are perfectly fine and healthy, proper relaxation can make a wonderful change to your life and reduce your stress levels.

A person who does not do any work need not be necessarily relaxed. Similarly, lying in your bed does not ensure relaxation if your mind is busy elsewhere.

Is this Relaxation? Following activities are not true relaxation :

• Collapsing into a sofa and watching your favourite channels. Sex, violence and tear jerking emotions can further add to your emotional baggage.

• Reading a newspaper or a magazine can make you feel better but it is not true relaxation.

• Eating, drinking or partying.

• Gossiping or spreading rumours about colleagues.

• Use of drugs or any other intoxicant.

Is Relaxation possible? Yes, relaxation is possible for everybody but it requires positive action. You can master the master the art of relaxation with persistent efforts. Relaxation is not a one time affair, you have to practice it regularly. Make relaxation techniques a part of your life. Do a self analysis to identify any major causes of stress that can be resolved easily and try to remove them. For true relaxation, there has to be a paradigm shift in the way you think. You have to let go of things. Do not think that you are doing everything. Remember, you are not indispensable, world does not rest on your shoulders alone. Here are some tips for relaxation.

Yoga for relaxation. Yoga breathing and yoga asanas are real stress busters and improves your feel good factor. It removes negative feelings/ emotions from your mind. Yoga helps in harmonising your mind and body, provides you more energy to carry out your work.

• About 15 minutes of yoga practice in the morning can help. Practice shava asana and rhythmic deep breathing initially.

• Also, during the day, you can practice rhythmic breathing any time you have minimum three to five minutes of spare time. Concentrate on your breath during the day and become aware of the rhythm of breathing.

• In general, consciously try to take deep breaths whenever you have time. After some days your breathing will automatically become deep and you can feel the difference in your spirits and resulting mental peace.

• At least once or twice a week practice yoga nidra for complete relaxation.

Relaxation and mind control. Relaxation is an art which starts with a positive state of mind. If you resolve in your mind that you are happy and relaxed, you will feel relaxed. With continuous auto suggestions, mind can be trained over a period of time.

Concentration and meditation Spend some time in solitude in a day, preferably early morning. Choose a room with no light or any sound. Try to concentrate your mind. Observe the thoughts going through your mind as an independent observer. After some days practice,

gradually try to have a control on your thoughts. You should not allow negative thoughts to enter your mind. It is possible but requires practice. Develop an attitude of self confidence.

Actions for Relaxation. Forward your clock by 5 minutes and you can avoid most of the troubles. Be available for all your appointments well in time. For example, before going to office, get ready 5 minutes early, relax and think about days task.

• Close your eyes and take 5 to 10 deep breaths, this gives you a momentary break to reorganise your thoughts.

• At times, leave our place of work for few minutes and take a walk to coffee machine.

• Take to stairs and climb to next floor.

• A good night's sleep is essential for better relaxation and helps to avoid effects of sleep deprivation.

• Sometimes have a change in your daily routine. For example, sometimes go on a long walk in a nearby park. Spend some time in the lap of nature.

• Develop a hobby such as practicing yoga, meditating, cycling, swimming or gardening.

Emotions for Relaxation.

• You do not need other people's approval for all your actions, so be relaxed and do not bother what other people say about you.

• You can relax while doing your work, provided you like your work and work with full concentration.

• Do not worry about past or future, take care of your present.

• Spend some time with your family every day. Your family can provide you much needed emotional support.

• You can also find pleasant memories within you to help you create relaxation.

• Indeed having a happy married life and harmonious environment at home is essential for peace of mind.

Control your breathing and heart rate by using rhythmic breathing so that you stay composed and calm under all circumstances. Relaxation essentially involves identifying and prioritising your most important jobs and utterly disregard unimportant issues. Practicing these relaxation tips/ techniques will enable you to focus on relevant issues, improve your productivity at work and lead a healthy life.

Re-Evaluation of the Value of Happiness

Om Sai Ram

“Yesterday, I was driving, and the FM radio went off for few seconds. I thought, I should have an iPod. Then suddenly I realized that I have not used my iPod in last 6 months. And then… more things, Handy cam in last 2 years, Digital Camera in last 2 months, DVD player in last 1 month and many more. Now I can say that I bought that Handy cam just out of impulse, I have used it twice only in last 4 years.

So, whats wrong and where? When I look at myself or my friends I can see it everywhere. We are not happy with what we have but all are stressed and not happy for the things we don’t have. You have a Santro, but you want City… You have a City, but you want Skoda. Just after buying a new phone, we need another one. Better laptop, bigger TV, faster car, bigger house, more money… .I mean, these examples are endless. The point is, does it actually worth? Do we ever think if we actually need those things before we want them?

After this, I was forced to think what I need and what I don’t. May be I didn’t need this Handy cam or the iPod or that DVD player. When I see my father back at home. He has a simple BPL colour TV, he doesn’t need 32″ Sony LCD wall mount. He has a cell phone worth Rs 2,500. Whenever I ask him to change the phone, he always says… “Its a phone, I need this just for calls.” And believe me; he is much happier in life than me with those limited resources and simple gadgets. The very basic reason why he is happy with so little is that he doesn’t want things in life to make it luxurious, but he wants only those things which are making his life easier. It’s a very fine line between these two, but after looking my father’s life style closely, I got the point. He needs a cell phone but not the iPhone. He needs a TV but not the 32″ plasma. He needs a car but not an expensive one.

Initially I had lot of questions.

I am earning good, still I am not happy…...why ?

I have all luxuries, still I am stressed.... ....... why?

I had a great weekend, still I am feeling tired...... why?

I met lot of people, I thought over it again and again, I still don’t know if I got the answers, but certainly figured out few things. I realize that one thing which is keeping me stressed is the “stay connected”syndrome. I realized that, at home also I am logged in on messengers, checking mails, using social networks, and on the top of that, the windows mobile is not letting me disconnected. On the weekend itself, trying to avoid unwanted calls… and that is keeping my mind always full of stress. I realized that I am spending far lesser money than what I earn, even then I am always worried about money and more money. I realized that I am saving enough money I would ever need, whenever needed. Still I am stressed about job and salary and spends.

May be, many people will call this approach “not progressive attitude", but I want my life back. Ultimately it’s a single life, a day gone is a day gone. I believe if I am not happy tonight, I’ll never be happy tomorrow morning. I finally realized that meeting friends, spending quality time with your loved one’s; spending time with yourself is the most important thing. If on Sunday you are alone and you don’t have anybody to talk with, then all that luxuries life, all that money is wasted. May be cutting down your requirements, re-calculating your future goal in the light of today’s happiness is a worthwhile thing to do. May be selling off your Santro and buying Honda City on EMIs is not a good idea. I believe putting your happiness ahead of money is the choice we need to make.

I think, a lot can be said and done but what we need the most is re-evaluation of the value of happiness and time we are giving to our life and people associate with it.”
